| Much
gratitude and thanks go to our brother Jerre Wethington for his contributions
to this page. On October 26, 1999 I received the following:
Dear John, Just a short note to say hey and I enjoyed your pages. Two notes of interest. I served on USS Remora SS487 from Dec 1963 to Sept 1966. My first boat. I was 18 when I went aboard and made it all the way to Third Class Engineman. I also served on the USS Sargo SSN583 from May 1967 to June 1969 and I was a Second Class Fire Control Technician. I manned the Fire Control Panel and fired the fish that took out the USS Sterlet. I don't know if it's a good thing, or a bad thing, but I included four pictures with this email for you. Hopefully, if anything, I might have brought a small smile to your face rather than a large frown. I also served on the USS Snook SSN592 from Dec 1969 to Feb 1972 and mustered out as a First Class FTG1(SS), but I cut my teeth on a Diesel boat and I will always and forever be a DBF'er. Jerre Wethington
