reflect what it was like in boot camp back in 1963 when
we of Company 429 had first enlisted. We did have few who crossed over
from other branches or broken service with a reduction in rank that
we had to compete with, but that's how it went. Items here are scanned
from the two sources pictured above. To the upper right, is the brochure
that we mailed home to our families illustrating some of the things
that an enlisted sailor went through in Basic Training. It's the I'm
At The U.S. Naval Training Center, it's viewed by clicking the silver
buttons above. We simply called the place NTC, so that's how they are
labled. On the upper left is the "year book" containing the
actual pictures of us being hammered into sailors. On the books, we
were Company 63-429 reflecting the year of our company. Those items
are accessed by clicking silver company buttons above.
Thats
me as a Chief Petty Officer seen below. That fellow is still the warrior
shackled inside this now-aging body trying to get out. Click on that

to begin with. This section should bring a few memories to some.
